Hello!
After watching the videos, I conclude that Jainism is the only religion I know which has so much respect for the lives of animals (Jains do not kill or eat animals because it is a sin). For that they are vegetarians. Jains think Ahimsa is very important. Ahimsa means non-violence, for humans and animals, even the smallest.I feel identified with Jainism because I have a pet (a dog). They don't search material things; this is a way to clean their soul in future reincarnations. I believe Jainism is a way of life and I have a lot of things in common with the teachings that appear in the videos. The photos represent Jainism very well. The first image shows us people wearing a handkerchief for do not eat insects at the moment of speaking, in the second there is a Tirthankara (holy men of Jainism), the third photo has two men without clothes because we obtain them from animals and plants and the fourth is the symbol of swastika (traditional symbol in this religion). That's all, goodbye to the 'Nievesnautas' ;-)

Hello!! :D
Jainism is a religion completely different to others. We can see some similarities with Buddhism, but Jains have thoughts that anyone more has. Studying this religion, I have leart a lot about other cultures and other ways of thinking.
With the videos, I have learnt many things about Jainism from different points of view.
I like the third video, which shows us the Jain's daily life, because we can see how do they pray and their customs. I also like the second video because we can see the beauty of their temples.
In Jainism, they have a lot of importance in non-violence. The photo where there are some women wearing a mask shocked me at first, because before studying Jainism, I didn't know about the importance that some people think about evey soul.
That's my opinion. See you ;)

Hello Juan Antonio!
The video I like the most is the third one .It shows the Jainism like a religion where the spirituality, the non violence are the most important things .On the other hand the material things aren't important.
I think life must be like Jainism:coherent, critic and respecful with everybody ,including animals and plants.
I hope you like it

Good morning to everyone,
After I watch all the videos, I know a bit of this beautiful religion. It is so different about our religion, but when you listen to the jains, you understand they thinking and they are so reasonable; but I am a christian and I am not accord with them.
In the first video, I learn the three teachings of Jainism, the two I prefer are: non violence and pluralism. And I also learn that jains are only five millions in the world, but the have a big importantan in the world life; an example of a jain is Nelson Mandela.
In the second video, I like what the man says: "When you see a person, you only see they surface no what is inside them", I also like the elephant that is near the temple and which represents the importance of the principle of charity, I also like the song that the man uses to pray. I learn what is Ahimsa, respect to everyone; but in my opinion is a difficult principle, because when you see a person different for you, sometimes you don´t like him. In this video I like a sentence that I need to apply me: "Do the things with your best intention".
But for me the best video is the last one in which one boy goes inside a jain's temple. In this video the boy has to taken off their shoes, like the hindus. I think that the sacrament that they do with water is similar to Christianism. The sentence that I like more is in which the monk talk about the differents between Jainism and the other indian religions. He says:" Jainism stresses most on the meditation part".
The photos are so curious.
Goodbye

Hi people!!
I think the third video is very educational, its represented a student making a reportage for his school, he make a film that is about a day in the life of jain, I think is very interesting their diet and they form of thinking about the life of all living things.
The first image represented two woman with a handerkerchiefin her mouth to avoid eating any insects inadvertently.
The second image represented Mahavira
The third image represented two mans nudes in a temple.
The fourth image represented de symol of jainism.
Bye.

Hi, Juan Antonio,

The most video I liked has been the first one, because I tink that these man is so nice, but he looks a bit nervous don´t you think??
He explained jain culture very well but sometimes i didn´t can to understand him...

But I´m glad you uploaded those videos to your blog, thank you!! I´m waiting for the nexts.

Hello!
I´ve just seen these videos and I think they´re really interesting, they show us the main teachings of Jainism, which are: 1.AHIMSA,that means non-violence or respect to all living beings, they do not kill anybody, not even insects, they´re peaceful people. 2.PLURALISM,I´m going to explain this concept with a sentence that I´ve heard on the first video (Every point of view is a true point of view, no one point of view is a final truth). I think this sentence is very important becouse it brings peace. 3.PURITY OF SOUL. Which means every human being is automatically divine.4.CHARITY."Money should not be a law to rule their lifes" this is one of my favourite Jain teachings.
There are only five million jains all over the world, but this religion has influenced on the ethics and society on India.I think this concept is very important becouse in India all the religions are very similar.
On the second video, the man who speaks says "When we look at most people, what we see is the surface,is very difficult to find out what is inside them" I think it´s my favourite idea of Jainism, becouse it shows people to do not judge the others by their appearance.
Finally,I will say that for most jains religion is a part of everyday life, I think it´s very curious.
Bye!

Hi,
After watch all videos and photos I have learn a bit more about Jainism.
·In the first video a man explain us: the core principles, what are the jains, and that Gandhi had some believes like the Jainism, he tells too some important jains in the history.
·In the second video the man explain use some things like: the central principles, some believes, why he is jain, what represent two sculptures, what means peace for them...
·In the third video a studiant goes to a jain temple, there we can see the opinion of jains about different things, the instruction that give the jains to that boy, the different height of sculptures...

In the images you can watch the costume of some jains to put a kind of mask on their mouth, a representation of Mahavira, a huge sculpture, and their symbol, the same symbol that nacis copy and use for their world representation.

Bye

Hello!,
I have seen all the videos, and after watch them I think that is a curious religion because sometimes they are really scrupulous with the living things, for example:
In the photos that are under the third video some women are with a special mask for don't eat insects
The video that I like most is the third one because se can see the temples, their way of cooking, their prayers... Also these video catch my atention because a teenager like us interview jain people
A very funny thing is that the monks are naked because they think that is a natural and normal habit.
In the second video the most important teach that we learn is the charity that is relation in the jainism religion with Ahimsa.
In my opinion the first video is boring because the man who is talking doesn't speak very well english and he is very nervous, and... I don't understand all!! But this video teach are a lot of things of jainism, like their principals, and that Mahadma Gandhi is very important in this religion although he isn't jain.
A very important precept is:
Don't judge people by their aparience .
It is a interesting religion but I don't like it a lot, but is important to learn others religions to find your personality.
Finally I want to say that I think that is very complicated to be jain because you can't eat all, you can't say all, you can't kill animals...
And also, they say that the soul of all the living things are the same important but they are really male .
Bye,
Natalia M. :)

Hi, Juan Antonio I am going to talk about the second video. the three basic principles of Jainism are:
-Non violence which is the most important. you can´t be a Jain if you harm living beings.
-Pluralism: everybody has an opinion. There is not only a truth. Every opinion is respectable.
-Every human being is devine. Each person has potential for to be devine.

Hello, Juan Antoniooo!!!!!!
I have seen all the videos and for me the best video is the one where the boy show us the life of the people that follow jainism, because he show us their costumes, symbols...
After watch these videos I think that jainism is a very extremist religion, because non-violence (Ahimsa) is really good, but sometimes is bad, because drive a car is good although you kill insects.
Thank you for the videos.
Bye!!!

I think the video that resume the jainism is the first because in it we learn a lot of things about this religion. In this videos, the men teach us their symbols,costumes...for example,he says jainism is a religion based in non-violence .In my opinion, the jainism is one of the best religions for me because they don´t pollute the environment! They respect every living.
thank you for put the videos

hello!
I've seen the three videos and I found interesting.
The first video explains as it is Jainism which is a religion consistent, critical and respectful. In the second video a person teaches his temple and his religion and explains to us also of ahimsa which means respect for all living things and symbolizes peace and also teaches a statue of a white elephant that symbolizes charity. In the third video a student visits a Jain temple and explains that Jainism is a different religion by itself and is based on Hinsa (not kill anybody). They can not pluck the flowers of plants and Jainism emphasizes non violence. After explaining a bit the videos the one I liked and I found most interesting was the second.
Bye!.

Hello Juan Antonio,
I have seen all the videos. In my opinion, the last video is the best. It is like a small summary about this strange religion: Jainism. It can be seen that Jainism has a big contrast with the other religions. I think that they exaggerate with the subject about the non-violence. You can speak without eating mosquitos or things like this type. Although, thank you to made that we can learn a bit more about the history of religion Thank you!

Hi!
I learned a lot with theese videos... I don´t know which one I like most.
The first one explains clearly the main ideas of jainism:
-non violence
-pluralism
-no position
It shows the influence on modern charcters, like Ghandi.
The second one says very important things, as "respect for all living things" or "money should not rule our lives". I totally agree with the second sentence, because, what ever you do, do not do it for greed or wellness!Money is not the most important thing!
An other thing I´ve liked is that when people think about jainism, they think on respect people of any other sexuality, condition, or skin colour, but It´s more than that! It,s respect all living things (animals, insects, plants...)
The last one is viewed from another point of view. It is from the perspective of an student that is learning about jainism. He enphazises the art of meditation "jip and tuk".
I´ve enjoyed waching them!

Hello,
jains do many things well, but what struck me is to not only respect all people, but also do so with the thoughts and ideas of each and every living being, for example, in one of the images that you put at the end it is because people cover their mouths to avoid swallowing insects, all living beings deserve life. They mention that the money does not rule your life and it is important because we are used to living off our money without thinking about our happiness. En the second video says that the word peace is not achieved or understood by all but is a form of respect and Non-violence which is the best.

Hi!
I have seen the videos and I think they are very interesting:
The video that I most like is the video that speaks about that a boy goes to visit some jainist people.
That means that is not very important your religion it is more important be yourself.

Hello
I think that the video that explains better the Jainism is the third, because it shows how is the normal life in a public temple, what they do and
how they do.
I think that Jainism countains very important teachings for everybody in the world and not only for jains, the Ahimsa, the respect for every soul and the concept of``don´t consume´´ can make a better world. But sometimes Jainism is extrem, for example the concept of ``don´t consume´´ makes very extrem acts in jain people until the point that some people ¡¡¡aren´t in clothes¡¡¡,I think it is not necesary to look after the world, in my opinion the real message of it is ´to consume the less as possible to have a good , confortable (whith a house, technologie etc) and sociated life.
Bye, that´s all.

Hello,
I´ve seen the videos and I think that the best is the third one because I think that is better to learn this religion it´s to go into a temple and see what the jainist people do,pedicate,ate...
But I think that Jainism is a bit exigent with the food that they ate,I think that they have to eat more things and no exaggerate with the Ahimsa
publicado por (2ºC) Nuria Miguel, el 02.04.2013 17:09
Hello Juan Antonio.
I have see all videos and I thing that JAINISM is a very beautiful and respestful religion because they believe in pluralism and consider that all the souls of every animals have the same value and for achieve this we need have responsability and sacrifice.
In my opinion the best video is the first because you learn very thing about the Jainism like the three most iportant things about this religion. Also I like the second and the third video because they talk about interesting things and we can see the interior of a jain house and show us a jain life.
